Promise Pointe Potential Resident Qualifying Criteria 

Checklist of qualifying criteria that must be present to become a potential resident of Promise Pointe: 

Following is Promise Pointe’s definition of chronic homelessness: an individual who is homeless (without a permanent dwelling) and has lived in a place not meant for human habitation, in a safe haven or in an emergency shelter for an extended period of time, or has had at least episodes of homelessness lasting 90 days or more, on separate occasions, in the last 3 years. 

ð Meets the above definition of chronically homeless in Victoria and the Crossroads area (Crossroads area includes the following 8 counties: Victoria, Calhoun, Dewitt, Refugio, Goliad, Gonzales, Lavaca, Jackson) and can show proof of homelessness within the Crossroads region. 

ð Have undergone the Coordinated Assessment Process of the Texas Homeless Network within the last 6 months and show proof of such along with results of the assessment.  

ð  Are at least 18 years of age or older and single. We do not allow roommates and cannot accommodate families. Couples who both qualify separately are allowed, but will live in separate units. 

ð  Have a valid U.S. government issued ID or fingerprint documentation.  

ð Provide fingerprints for FBI check and agree to a criminal background check. 

ð  Have a social security card or proof thereof or have a U.S. resident alien ID card 

ð  Can pay rent of $300 a month and an initial deposit of $150, with a monthly income of at least twice the rent. 

ð  Is not on the Sex-Offender Registry. Those who have a violent criminal record will be screened to ascertain compatibility with the community. We work closely with those who have a criminal record, but make no guarantees of placement.  

ð  Are willing to live as a good neighbor in a neighborhood that is dedicated to respectful coexistence and improvement of the lives of those living at Promise Pointe.

The entry point of Promise Pointe is through any agency or service that can perform the Coordinated Entry Assessment of the Texas Homeless Network and/or provides services to the homeless.
