Sister Rebecca Janacek, a member of the international Order of the Incarnate Word & Blessed Sacrament, has been the Executive Director of Promise Pointe since September 2018. Under her leadership, Promise Pointe has transformed into a nurturing community for formerly homeless individuals, providing them with stability and security. Residing at Promise Pointe, Sister Rebecca offers guidance, encouragement, and a compassionate presence to all residents.
The team at Promise Pointe is the heartbeat of our organization, bringing dedication, skill, and compassion to every facet of our work. Their commitment ensures that each day runs seamlessly, making our collective mission possible. From coordinating resources to providing hands-on support, every team member plays a crucial role in helping us achieve our goals. Without their collective effort, the impact we make together would be impossible. Our team isn’t just essential—they are the driving force behind every success at Promise Pointe.
Nicole Way has been a member of the Promise Pointe Board since December 2022 and has served as Board President since January 2024. She has been with Gulf Bend Center since January 2003, currently serving as their Chief Operations Officer. Nicole holds a BS in Psychology from the University of Houston-Victoria and a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Texas A&M.
Margaret Fisseler graduated from the University of Houston-Victoria with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She is a Certified Public Accountant with over 30 years of experience in accounting and was the former owner of a small public accounting firm. Margaret joined the Promise Pointe board in 2023 and currently serves as the treasurer. A master gardener, she lives in Mission Valley with her husband, Bob.
Kat Muñoz-Hickl, a dedicated advocate for Hispanic families, holds a Master’s in Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University, specializing in supporting underserved communities. With 8 years of experience in social services, she has worked with diverse groups, including the homeless, children, and survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. Kat serves as the Program Manager for Golden Crescent MOMS under Texas A&M School of Nursing, where she collaborates with her exceptional team of maternal/child health home navigators. She is currently serving her first term as Secretary on the Board of Directors of Promise Pointe, marking her third year on the board. Born and raised in Victoria, Kat is a devoted wife and mother of two daughters, driven by her commitment to empower and uplift her community.
Marcie is a Health Agent with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Victoria County. She has worked with Extension for over two years. Her area of focus is Healthy South Texas educational programs focus on preventing and managing chronic disease, such as diabetes and hypertension, promoting physical activity, nutrition, and mental health to improve quality. She has a passion for reaching the underserved through health and wellness education. Marcie has lived and served in Victoria with her family for over 30 years.
Pam Borchert served as the Executive Vice President of the Builders Association of Victoria for 38 years and is now retired. During her tenure, she was elected President of the Texas Association of Builders Executive Officers Council and received the National Association of Homebuilders’ Outstanding Small Office Executive Officer of the Year award. Pam was honored with a Texas flag that had flown over the Capitol by Senator Ken Armbrister, and Mayor Will Armstrong proclaimed “Pam Borchert Day” in her honor.
Locally, Pam is a past member of the Northside Rotary Club, a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi, and serves on the Board of Directors of Promise Pointe. She is also a volunteer at Christ’s Kitchen and a member and volunteer greeter at Parkway Church.
Buddy Breivogel retired after a distinguished 20-year career with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, including 15 years as Manager of the Comptroller’s Property Tax Division. Before joining the Comptroller’s office, he was a registered property tax agent with Kirkwood and Darby, Inc. in Fort Worth, Texas. Buddy also served as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps and is a proud graduate of Texas A&I University.
Casey Housworth was born and raised in Port Lavaca, TX, and graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Business Management. After graduation, he began his sales career in Victoria, TX, and is now the owner and co-owner of three businesses in Victoria: Budget Blinds, The UPS Store, and Rapid Printing. Casey is a member of Northside Rotary and is actively involved in the Victoria Chamber of Commerce and Crossroads Builder’s Association. He joined the board of Promise Pointe in 2024.
Mike Olson joined Promise Pointe in December 2018 after a 34-year career as a manager with AT&T in Victoria, Texas. Initially volunteering to oversee construction, he joined the board of directors in January 2019 and served as board president from 2022 to 2023. In 2024, Mike has taken on various volunteer roles, always following the direction of the executive director. It was through his volunteer work at Promise Pointe that Mike discovered his deep-seated passion for helping the homeless. Mike and his wife Cheryl have three children and nine grandchildren and reside in Victoria, Texas.
Frank Reyes, a seasoned entrepreneur and community leader, has been a driving force in Victoria, Texas for decades. As the owner of South Texas Ventilation for 19 years, he has established a successful business while actively contributing to local organizations and the community . A dedicated member of the Promise Pointe Board, Victoria Builders Association, Main Street Project, and various other local boards, Reyes has demonstrated his commitment to improving the community. A proud veteran of the US Army and a graduate of Stroman High School, Reyes is a father of three and a grandfather to seven
Monica Rodriquez is a native Victorian having lived in this great little big city all of her life. She is a graduate of Victoria College. She is currently employed with First Community Bank as a Vice President/Commercial Lender. Previously she worked 23 years for First Victoria National Bank where she was Senior Vice President/ Retail Operations Support Manager.
She currently serves on multiple boards including: Hope Child Advocacy Center and Promise Pointe. She is also currently serving as a commissioner on the Victoria Planning Commission.
Monica is married to Robert Rodriquez, they have two daughters and two grandsons.
Randy Sternadel has been a resident of Victoria since the mid-1980s. He is retired from DOW Chemical/UCC and is an active member of First Evangelical English Lutheran Church. Randy is married to Pamela and has two children, Samuel and Alyssa.
Nelda Chambers, a charter board member of Promise Pointe since 2015, has been instrumental in developing this remarkable neighborhood for the formerly homeless of the Victoria Crossroads region. As a real estate agent, she played a key role in finding the ideal location to create a community dedicated to improving the lives of those who have experienced homelessness. Nelda’s wisdom and compassion are vital in guiding Promise Pointe into the future.
